The Grand Prize winners of this year's competition are cellist Gabriel Martins and violinist Geneva Lewis. This year, CAG introduced a new Ambassador Prize, which was awarded to violinist Ariel Horowitz, percussionist Britton-René Collins, and mixed trio Empire Wild.
This year's competition took place entirely online during the height of both the COVID-19 pandemic and the many events of 2020 surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. Consequently, the new Ambassador Prize is a relevant addition to the Victor Elmaleh Competition that supports and empowers artists who are dedicated to implementing real change in the world through and beyond sonic interactions.
